IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a modern type of laser hair removal used for permanent/long-term hair removal. It breaks the cycle of hair growth by disabling the hair root/follicle with a burst of light energy. With regular maintenance treatments to catch new hairs IPL will continue to prevent regrowth - keeping your skin smooth and hair-free.
Light energy from IPL is absorbed by the melanin in the hair, which then turns to heat and destroys the hair cells. Quickly, easily and painlessly remove hair from anywhere on your body with two convenient flash modes. The manual mode (activated by a single click) is perfect for hard to reach, delicate areas of the body such as the lip, armpit and chin. The auto flash mode (activated by holding the button down) will save you time on large areas of the body such as your legs, thighs, arms, chest and back. It's as easy as that.
Clinical IPL treatment has existed for over 25 years and our technology is derived from the same devices used in professional salons across the globe. With years of experience within the industry we have adapted the know-how and depth of knowledge to create an IPL handset which utilises cutting edge, clinical-grade technology that is certified for efficient, yet safe hair removal at home.
The actual session involves a series of laser pulses that results in a prickling and burning sensation. But don’t worry; the pain isn’t too bad. In fact, it’s similar to that of a rubber band snapping against your skin. After the laser hair removal session is over, you may experience temporary swelling and redness which is NORMAL and will go away.
No, it isn't necessary to wear eye protection while using our handset. Our handsets are fitted with a sensor and will not pulse and light unless the entire window is pressed against your skin. That being said you should never try and look directly into the light as it flashes.
We recommend using your handset once a week for the first 8 weeks. After this period we recommend using your handset once a month, for 2 months or until satisfied. If you would like to maintain hairless, smooth skin, we recommend using your handset once every 2 to 3 months, or as needed
Between your treatments you should only shave when required. We recommend never waxing, plucking, or epilating as these hair removal methods removes the entire root, which is what absorbs our handset's light during the treatment.
Although no evidence stating that IPL has negative effects on pregnant or breastfeeding women exists, we still cannot recommend using our handset if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, just as a precaution.
If you have been tanning recently, we must recommend waiting 2 weeks before using your handset. Please also wait at least 48 hours to tan after using your handset. Artificial tan should also not be on your skin whilst using your handset.
